I have written about faith and strategies to bring prosperity into your life, but what about knowing that it is prosperity when you see it. Will you be able to do that? As I stated in Faith in Prosperity, faith is believing without seeing. In the work I do to help you Reclaim Your Dream and to Accelerate Your Dream once you have begun to pull it forward, I have you inspecting in Step 3 of the workshop –Weathering the Storm your mindset around the dream and your prosperity. Today, I am going to have you examine your picture of prosperity. I am going to ask questions to look deeper into your prosperity reference points. If you are not clear on those points, then you are likely to accept just any old thing that shows up.
1) Let’s look at the people in your life and those who you admire. Who do you know who is prosperous in the way I have defined prosperity in Creating a Plan to Create Prosperity – Vision.
What is it about them that is an example of your vision? In other words, are these the images in your mind’s eye?
2) If these are your role models, then to what do you attribute their prosperity? What qualities do they exhibit? Could it be that they are an example of the life you would like to create – the dream you would like to realize. Maybe they have the successful business you want or they travel the world the way you would like or they have written a book.
3) Now let’s look in the other direction. Who do you know who is not as prosperous as they think they should be? Notice I am not asking you to judge them based on your standards of prosperity, but rather on their own standards. These are people who tell you how tough their life is and how it would be so different if …
4) Then ask yourself, why do I think they lack that prosperity? Yes, here I am asking you to put yourself in their shoes and possibly be just a bit judgmental as you speculate on what might be going on in their lives. Perhaps it is their own mindset that puts them where they are.
Then again, perhaps you are just reflecting your own reasons for lack of prosperity. I want you to look at these additional thoughts. We have been working on prosperity for a while now. You have made progress in your journey to being more prosperous. So, describe for yourself the current level of prosperity – how is it now? If there is still a gap, then how much more would it take to qualify at your defined prosperous level? Finally, what are you currently doing to make it happen and what adjustments might you have to make? What are you resisting? Write to me and let me know whether these questions resonated with you. If you like to talk about it,let’s set a time.
